4,870 NHS jobs lost so far this year due to overspend even though £200 million have been spent on 'management consultants', according to former health secretary Frank Dobson. Mr. Dobson said that the management consultants were seldom value for money according to The Telegraph.

Weekly news of NHS Trust overspends have clearly shown that the increase in managers in the NHS has not lead to financial stability. Unfortunately, patient services will be sacrificed with wholesale front line clinical staff cuts and bed closures whilst actively advertising for ever increasing numbers of managers.
