According to The Times, the NHS has reneged on its promise to provide qualifying MS sufferers with appropriate treatment, even though the Department of Health has claimed that the latest redundancies will not affect patient care. One of the worst hit are those served by the University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust which had been forced cut over 1000 jobs last week, even though the DoH had claimed that will reduce costs by increased efficiency, without affecting patient services. Another example of how the DoH have refused to acknowledge that their unrealistic policies are a detriment to the health of the nation. How can patient services be maintained at an acceptable level when 15 consultants and other front line medical staff along with 167 beds are lost?
